The Straight Line Racing Institute is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promoting, preserving, and advancing the national sport of drag racing. Our mission is simple: to spark interest, expand public understanding, and celebrate the culture, history, and excitement of drag racing.

Whether you’re a lifelong racer, a weekend fan, curious about engines, or a family discovering your first event — we’re here to bring the straight-line world to life.

Drag racing is more than speed — it’s engineering, innovation, discipline, and tradition. Yet many dragstrips are closing nationwide, and the sport needs new advocates, new racers, and new fans.
